Cyclists Matt Walls and Matt Bostock hospitalised in crash at Commonwealth Games velodrome in Birmingham 2022. Two cyclists have been hospitalised and a least one crowd member – a young girl – is being treated after the horror crash. Two cyclists have been hospitalised in a horror crash that also injured a young girl who was in the crowd at the Commonwealth Games velodrome.

England’s Matt Walls and Matt Bostock from the Isle of Man were the most seriously injured in the crash that also took out a number of other riders during the qualifying race of the men’s 15km scratch at Birmingham 2022.

Walls was sent flying into the crowd, while Bostock crashed heavily into the barrier. Bostock was taken away in a stretcher and Walls was screened off from the crowd as he was treated.

According to the source Matt Walls has been discharged with stitches in his forehead, but thankfully no major injuries.
